As the sun set, we arrived in front of the Magic Kingdom to some amazing views of everything lit up. Once the show has ended, your journey back to Disney’s Contemporary begins, complete with pirate trivia and of course pirate singing! Each guest has the chance to crow, chat and take a photo with Peter Pan, before flying off to Neverland. The cruise is only available on select evenings and is able to be booked 180 days in advance. As you board and say good bye to Captain Hook and Mr.Smee your adventure starts on sea with Patch as your guide.
How Can You Book a Specialty Cruise?
Now, if you don’t mind skipping those, you will benefit with an extra special possible encounter. During the show, you are welcome to move around if you need to. Our cruise was only partially full so there was plenty of room upstairs for everyone to watch the show. In comparison, the ones inside the park range from $99 – $109 per adult and $59 per child up for a reserved standing location, to $119 – $129 for adults and $75 per child for a reserved seated location.
Rare Characters Appearing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Earth Day
I highly recommend making the Specialty Fireworks Cruise part of your vacation - it will be the highlight! Each time we’ve done this cruise, it’s been the most memorable part of the trip and it’s something we’ll continue to do over and over again - truly one of the best experiences Walt Disney World has to offer. Guests are asked to arrive 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the evening’s fireworks showing.
What is a Disney World Fireworks Specialty Cruise?
We’ve now done this trip multiple times and walked away satisfied enough but not blown away. It’s not a repeat event for us, just like it wasn’t the first go-round (yes, we realize we ended up back here. 6 years had passed — we had to check it out for you!). Compared to the first version of this cruise we experienced, the earlier version gets the edge for us simply because it felt a bit more coherent and planned out. Again, if you’re in the market for a dessert party, this will do fine, but it’s pricey for what it is and there are better options out there. For our money, there’s a lot of better ways to spend $100 in Disney World AND still enjoy the fireworks.
If you have little pirates or mermaids with you that do not necessarily like the loud noise of the fireworks when watching in the park, this is a great option to try. When the fireworks end, your captain will take you to see one final thing on your way back to the marina - the Electrical Water Parade! Note that you may view the parade prior to the fireworks instead - it just depends on the scheduled showtimes for the day of your cruise. The parade view from the lake is so unique, and you can hear the parade music loud and clear. Watching this classic parade float by is the perfect way to cap off the evening. If you happen to be celebrating anything during your vacation, be sure to mention that when you make your cruise reservation and the Cast Members will decorate your boat for you.
Ideally, you would make your reservation at 180 days prior to arrival but honestly, unless it’s a very popular time, think holidays, you’re ok to call in closer to your vacation. In fact, we booked our cruise only a month in advance for a weeknight sailing in September. If you’re looking for something special to do during your Walt Disney World vacation, Disney fireworks cruises may be just what you’re looking for! They’re the perfect way to see Disney fireworks without the crowds, plus you get your own private cruise. Here’s what you need to know about Disney fireworks cruises. The view for the fireworks from the boat is a super unique experience, but things like the projections and Tinker Bell flying were hard to see from this distance.

With a Disney fireworks cruise, you and your friends can rent a private pontoon boat to sail around Disney waters and watch fireworks. You have two choices of fireworks with Disney specialty cruises – Magic Kingdom fireworks or EPCOT fireworks. Your experience will include a captain, assorted snacks and soft drinks. On our cruise, we set sail from the Contemporary resort 75 minutes before the Magic Kingdom fireworks were due to start. Our skipper spent plenty of time telling us lots of stories about the sights we saw as we toured Bay lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. You are able to book speciality fireworks cruises to watch current nighttime shows at Disney World.

We wouldn’t recommend it if this is your first time seeing the show. However, if you don’t mind not being able to see the projections that well, then you’ll be okay! Wishes is my favorite nighttime show at the Walt Disney World Resort, I could watch it a million times, I have already watched it hundreds of times, and it never gets old. While watching right in front of Cinderella’s castle is the preferred viewing location, out on the Seven Seas Lagoon is my 2nd favorite.
Why We Love Fantasyland as The Best Place to Watch Magic Kingdom Fireworks
When you complete the hunt, you can return your answers to the check-in desk for a pirate prize. All fireworks cruise reservations can be booked by calling (407) WDW-PLAY. Both options offer the experience of seeing the fireworks uniquely with desserts and beverages, without dealing with crowds. It costs $99 to $100 per adult and $59 per child, tax included.
When you arrive at the marina, you’ll first meet your captain for the evening, review the rules, get the kids fitted for life jackets, and then you’ll board the boat. These pontoon boats are very spacious and feature plush, comfortable seating. Note that these are the only food and beverage options included with the cruise, but you’re also allowed to bring your own food and drinks (alcohol is allowed) if you’d like to. Guests will enjoy specialty desserts and specialty beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) on the ferryboat. The highlight of the evening will be a viewing of the evening’s nighttime spectacular (or a special holiday fireworks show at Magic Kingdom on event nights).
And if you have 10 people, then it makes it even more worth it. If you have a girls’ trip, you can split the cost amongst everybody or even if you’re coming for a runDisney race. Specialty Fireworks cruises off a unique perspective to watch fireworks from the water! They are a great way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or any accomplishment! You have limited guest capacity for an intimate experience. It really makes you feel like a baller and like you’re a VIP.
It is also the only place you can catch (or transfer to) the monorail to Epcot. If you plan to take a taxi or Uber/Lyft to Magic Kingdom, this is the official drop-off spot for that, as well as being the place where some of the offsite buses drop off guests for Magic Kingdom. Of course, you’d have to have a park ticket to book one of the parties inside Magic Kingdom, but you’d also get a much, much better view of the fireworks. For younger Guests, an ultraviolet scavenger hunt adds extra pixie dust to your evening adventures. Allow them to search for blacklight clues while waiting for the fireworks to begin. Additionally, the experience offers “Mickey Vision” glasses to don, further transforming your Happily Ever After experience.
